ABOUT MAK GROUP

More than 20 years in carbon production technologies

MAK GROUP is a team of engineers and specialists with hands-on experience in wood charcoal, biochar and industrial equipment for thermal conversion of woody biomass. We combine engineering knowledge, production practice and a deep understanding of carbonisation.

20+years of engineering and production experience

01 / CARBON ECONOMY

Anticipating the carbon economy

From the beginning, we understood that carbon footprints, industrial emission control and responsible resource use would become central issues for the global economy.

Industry is moving towards low-carbon production, reducing fossil-fuel use and seeking renewable sources of process carbon and energy.

Biochar and wood charcoal can partially replace coal, coke, fossil carbon materials and selected conventional fuels in metallurgy, industry, construction, energy and agriculture. MAK GROUP therefore focuses on the efficiency of the entire process, not only on carbon production.

02 / R&D

Research, practice and continuous development

MAK GROUP has invested substantial resources and thousands of engineering hours in the study of continuous carbonisation.

We have tested retort systems under different operating conditions, evaluated diverse feedstocks, product quality, energy balances and routes for using pyrolysis co-products.

This experience lets us configure each plant for its feedstock, capacity, final product, climate and site infrastructure rather than applying a universal template.

03 / ENERGY & VALUE

More than charcoal production

Our approach is to obtain the greatest technical and economic value from every tonne of biomass.

Modern carbon production does not stop at charcoal or biochar. Pyrolysis gas contains valuable energy that can be returned to the process.

01

Controlled collection and use of pyrolysis gas

02

Pyrolysis energy supporting carbonisation

03

Heat for feedstock drying and process needs

04

Surplus heat for external consumers

05

Optional electricity generation

06

Gas cleaning, condensate management and emission control

07

Closed process circuit without uncontrolled pyrolysis-gas release

08

Conversion of carbon fines into briquettes and pellets

09

Higher profitability and resource efficiency

We consider the complete plant — from feedstock reception to cooling, screening, upgrading and packaging.

04 / COMPLETE CYCLE

11

Technical support

We create economically efficient plants that use process energy responsibly and meet modern environmental requirements.

05 / NETWORK

A strong partner and contractor network

MAK GROUP has built a stable international network of specialised partners, manufacturers, designers and contractors.

Each participant contributes expertise in carbonisation, steel structures, feedstock handling, drying, gas cleaning, heat exchange, automation, electrical systems, construction, installation and commissioning.

Together we deliver projects of different scales and complexity — from individual process units to complete charcoal, biochar, pellet and briquette plants.

Our purpose

06 / PURPOSE

Our purpose

To create plants where biomass is used efficiently, carbon remains in a useful product, pyrolysis energy returns to the process and environmental impact is progressively reduced.

We believe the future of carbon production lies in engineering efficiency, environmental responsibility and economic viability.

MAK GROUP — transforming biomass into carbon products, energy and lasting value.
